Biography

A Life
in Medicine

As a family practitioner with a passion for the skies, Dr Terence Moodley specialises in Aviation and Aerospace Medicine, combining his expertise in clinical medicine with a deep understanding of the unique physiological and environmental challenges of flight. Clinically trained in the United States, with foundational studies in basic sciences, he further honed his clinical skills in the UK and South Africa, broadening his perspective on global health.

With over 20 years of experience in clinical medicine, spanning government institutes and private practice, he has developed a comprehensive approach to patient care. A proud alumnus of Buffelsdale Secondary School (Class of 1997, Tongaat), Dr Moodley is deeply rooted in this community and committed to making a difference in the lives of those around him.

Currently serving as Chairman of the Tongaat Independent Practitioners Association (2022–present), Dr Moodley is dedicated to advancing healthcare standards in the community. He also leads the Centre for Hypertension, Diabetes and Obesity Excellence, with a focus on innovative, patient-centred approaches to managing these critical health issues.

Outside of medicine, Dr Moodley is passionate about promoting the connection between physical and mental well-being. An avid gym-goer, he believes in cultivating a healthy body to nurture a healthy mind, and is committed to sharing this ethos with his patients and community.
